Core Responsibilities and Duties: Design & Conception: Sketching designs, creating patterns, and selecting fabrics to match client preferences or market trends. Measurements & Fitting: Taking precise body measurements, conducting fittings, and making necessary adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. Construction & Production: Cutting fabric, sewing garments using industrial machines, and performing delicate hand-stitching (e.g., linings, pockets, buttons). Alterations & Repairs: Modifying or fixing existing clothing (e.g., shortening sleeves, tapering trousers). Client Management: Advising on style and fabric choices, providing excellent customer service, and managing timelines for custom orders. Finishing: Performing final touches like pressing, ironing, and adding embellishments. Skills and Requirements: Technical Proficiency: Skilled in pattern-making, garment construction, and operating sewing machines. Creativity & Precision: High attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics. Material Knowledge: Understanding different fabrics and their behavior. Physical Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination for sewing and cutting.
