Must have a background in fashion, tailoring, garment production or a related field. • Must know how to sew and understand garment construction. • Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to identify errors in tailoring and finishing. Responsibilities: • Inspect every garment when it comes into the studio. • Check for existing stains, damage, tears, defects or other issues before alterations begin. • Assess whether the garment/fabric is suitable for the requested alteration. • Inspect every garment after alteration to ensure the tailor has completed the work correctly. • Check measurements, stitching, seams, finishing, symmetry and overall garment quality. • Identify any mistakes and send garments back for correction where necessary. • Ensure garments are clean, properly finished and free from avoidable damage before release. • Conduct the final quality check before garments proceed to fitting or collection. • Ensure no garment leaves the studio without passing quality control. INTERVIEW / PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT Because these are operational roles, particularly the Studio Manager position, the recruitment process cannot be based solely on a CV or conventional interview. For the Studio Manager, shortlisted candidates will undergo a five-day practical interview/assessment at the studio. This is necessary for us to properly assess how the candidate works in a real operational environment. During the five days, we will assess their ability to manage daily studio operations, coordinate and supervise staff, organize garments, assign work, track jobs, communicate with clients, use our systems, understand our processes, and generally demonstrate that they can independently manage the studio. For the Quality Control Officer, the practical assessment will focus on their sewing ability, garment construction knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to identify and correct alteration and finishing errors. The purpose of the practical assessment is to ensure that candidates are genuinely capable of performing the responsibilities of the role before a final employment decision is made.
