SUPPORT WORKER NEEDED FOR AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN (LIVE-IN CARE ASSISTANT) We are seeking a responsible, caring, and attentive MALE helper to support an 85-year-old man who is mobile and generally independent but requires companionship and light assistance in daily living. Responsibilities include: Providing companionship to prevent isolation and offering support to manage cognitive health and physical support to prevent falls. Assisting him with daily personal care and comfort, such as getting out of bed, helping with moving around, preparing his bath water and assisting him before/during/after bath times, grooming, and oral hygiene. Engaging him in light conversations or activities to keep him mentally active. Practical & Household duties such as warming up his meals, ensuring he is well dressed at all times, cleaning his spaces, shopping for his medicines and running errands occasionally. Overnight assistant to support him when he needs to go to the toilet and to help with getting in and out of bed. Managing medication, administering or prompting doses, and accompanying him to medical appointments Health management includes checking and recording blood pressure and blood sugar regularly, and keeping an online log. Administering prescribed medications as directed. Using good judgment and initiative to take appropriate action to prevent harm and avoid hazards when required. Ideal candidate: Compassionate, strong communication, empathy, listening skills and trustworthy. Physically fit enough to assist with mobility when needed. Able to read, write, and use a smartphone or tablet for basic record keeping. Ability to work in a family home setting and communicate with his family as well. Prior experience with elderly care or nursing assistance is an advantage.
